Feed Me

Today was a big day for Joey. And not so great for Mommy. Joey had his first x-rays taken today. I don't know if you've noticed, but Joey has a tendency to hold his head a bit to the right. I try to hide it in the pictures, selecting the ones where it looks like his head is up straight (or straight-ish). This picture is a prime example. There's another one with an even better smile, but his head is significantly to the right, so I chose this one instead.

It's not as if he can't hold his head up straight, just that his "natural" tendency is to hold it to the side. It comes and goes, which confused the pediatrician, so she ordered x-rays and referred us to an opthamologist and physical therapist. The x-rays weren't painful, but I tried to squeeze them in before nap time. One on his back, one with his neck turned a quarter turn on each side, and then one fully on each side. The fourth one wasn't in focus, and Joey was not happy about having to get that one retaken. I gave him a bottle after that one, which made everything infinitely easier. Hopefully the opthamologist goes better. Once we get the x-rays read and confirm all is OK with that and his vision, we'll start the physical therapy. Keep your fingers crossed it's just a tight muscle or a strain or something that's "easy" to fix.

In the meantime, we spent most of the day in the bedroom, where the air conditioner is. Yes, summer came to Chicago, in like a lion. Joey has gotten so good at pulling the fishies out of the aquarium. Not so good at putting them back in, but we're getting there!

I hope everything is perfect! It can't be anything too big given how happy he always seems!
