Drivin' Along in My Automobile

A little blurry, but a taste of the fun that was had in Easton. More to come soon, I promise!

Looks Like We Made It

We made it to Easton safe and sound yesterday. Joey was already on three walks today, and only got into a little trouble. Tomorrow's the Please Touch Museum and maybe the Philadelphia Zoo, so we'll see what kind of shenagins happen then.

Warm Woolly Slippers

Joey received the most adorable monster slippers from his "Aunt" Alysia. Really, pictures are the only way to do them justice.
On a side note, these are the pj's he got from Aunt Kathy last Christmas. Still fits into them, and asks for his Thomas pj's by name!

Cleaning Crew

As the loyal readers of my blog know, Joey loves to vacuum. After his birthday party, we might actually have a full cleaning crew!
Sammy and Joey made quick work of the floors.
Annabel was ready to step in and help with all the other cleaning! (She had to figure out how it all worked first, but then she was good to go.)

Presents!

Joey is going to be an absolute blast at Christmas this year. He had so much fun opening presents!
Peeling back the paper ...
pulling out the tissue paper ...
figuring out how all the gifts work.
I might actually cheat and rewrap some of the toys he already has. I mean, how much does one kid need? And he'll have so much fun ripping open the wrapping paper, he won't even notice.

Cupcake Face

Who doesn't love getting a little messy while eating some birthday cupcakes?

Birthday, Take 3

Last Sunday, we had our friends over for Joey's "official" birthday party. Yes, it was the third time we had cake and candles for the boy. Hopefully Joey doesn't think his birthday is really the entire month of October (and into November).
We sang Happy Birthday (or Happy Day, as Joey calls it) ...and some of us wore costumes (at least for a little bit).
Then we all had cupcakes! (I tried to get all the kids, but it didn't quite work out. And one of them had already left by this time. But they had a blast!)

A Mighty Wind

Joey loves to do whatever Mommy and Daddy do, and this week he has fixated on the blow dryer. Every morning he tells me I need to use it, and then when I'm done, he wants his turn.
I think it's a little heavy for him, but he still loves to do his hair. (Only on his right side, though; he hasn't gotten the "all over" idea yet.)
But he's such a big boy and wants to do it all by himself!

Sparkling Grape Juice

We had a few items to pick up at the store on Saturday, so we headed out to Costco. As you probably know, they do sampling on Saturdays, and one of the samples this past weekend was sparkling grape juice. Joey's always asking for soda (when he sees us drinking it), so we figured, why not let him try some.
He wasn't sure at first ...
but quickly realized how delicious it is. Who knew shopping at Costco could be so much fun?

Christmas Card Fever

With Halloween almost a week behind us, I don't feel too weird when visions of sugarplums start dancing through my head. When I was a kid, it seemed we always waited until after Thanksgiving before we started to think about Christmas, but when I was a kid, I didn't know all the planning that went into it. Especially since I started sending Christmas cards. I mean, if you want them to get there before Christmas, you really need to send them out the first week or so of December. And if you're going to special order anything, you definitely need to start planning NOW.

My sister recommended I check out Shutterfly this year. I've done my own design the last few years, but since I don't have all the graphics editing tools I'd like to make the cards look as good as I'd like them to, I figured what do I have to lose. And now, I can't make up my mind.

They have a ton of holiday photo cards to choose from. (Just a little advise when you're browsing through all the options - use the filter on the left sidebar. Otherwise you'll never get through them all!) The weirdest part in looking at all of them is I know ones that would be perfect for other people. But who are we? Do we go black and white? If so, this one is perfect, with the stars and swirly font. Red and green? On this one, the little ornaments are the perfect touch. Or we could do something fun and colorful? This one is completely off the map on anything I'd ever do, but I still love how festive it is.

I guess it would help if I actually had pictures of Joey already. Then I could see what fits in with the theme in the picture. You know what I'll be doing during my vacation Thanksgiving week. And for the record, even if I picked out the one, did you think I would give it away already? You'll just have to keep checking your mailbox!

One for the Money

Of course we had birthday cake on Joey's birthday (and just about every weekend for the past month). Needless to say, Joey loves it! One for the money ...
Two for the show ...
Three to get ready ...
And four to blow!!
(Yes, at only two, he has already learned much from his Pop-Pop. Especially about making faces.)

Driving the Tractor

Even as cold as it's been the last few nights, Joey has still wanted to be outside and play on Daddy's tractor. It's stuck in the garage right now (which is probably a good thing), but that doesn't stop his enjoyment.
He loves to use the steering wheel ...
and is always on the lookout for obstacles in his path.
He also knows what keys are for. We had to take the real tractor keys out (so he doesn't turn on the lights and run down the battery), so I gave him my set of keys. He kept trying to put the into the ignition. I mean, he knew EXACTLY what to do. And then he said, "Mommy help." (He used to cry all the time, and I told him I didn't know what crying meant, so if he needed me to help, he just had to say "Mommy help." Took about a week and the crying and whining subsided greatly.) The boy is too smart for his own good.
Editor's comment: I was going to post pictures from his birthday, but someone needed to work last night and hogged the internet cable. And I didn't get a chance to set up our new wireless router yet. So you'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Happy Halloween (A Little Late)

Joey had quite a birthday weekend. Saturday we went with Buszi and his Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa for lunch. And Sunday was the double-header birthday and Halloween. Below are pictures from the first "half" of the day.
Showing off his costume (and not keeping his head still long enough for an in-focus picture).
Doing his best C. Montgomery Burns impression.
Look at my cape! Can you believe this thing?
Looking for candy before we even get outside. (Seriously, every night since they went trick-or-treating at school on Friday, all I hear is "lolly? lollipop?")
