We found the keyboard in the basement, cleaned her up and put in new batteries. Now we can have a dance party every night. We don't, but we could!

Playing Hat
Sunday night, I brought one of Daddy's baseball caps up from the basement. (It could be one of Mommy's. We both got the same one at a Blackhawks game a few years ago. But for the sake of the story we'll call it Daddy's.) If I rolled the back of it just a little, it fit perfectly on his head.

Thomas Pajamas
Joey got these adorable Thomas the Tank Engine pajamas from Aunt Kathy for Christmas. They're 2T, so we were waiting for him to grow into them. This weekend, as he was rifling through his drawers, he found them. And then he had to put them on.

My Baby Bumblebee
They're teaching the kids the hand motions that going along with My Baby Bumblebee at daycare. Joey really has nailed down the parts where you show off your hands. He's still learning the rest, and absolutely loves watching Mommy show him!!

Fun on His Chair
I'm having trouble picking my favorite pictures from today. Joey figured out how to climb up onto his little chair and then maneuver into a sitting position, and he is just so happy (and proud!) when he gets there. It gives Mommy a little agita every time I see it, since the turning around to sit down part involves first standing up, then leaning on something (either the end table or the couch) and finally slowly letting himself down to the ground just enough until his butt hits the chair. I tried to show him that if he just knelt down he could swing his legs around, but that wasn't nearly as much fun. Anyway, here are a few of my favorites.Did I mention he also loves to read on the chair? I'd love to know what's going through that little mind when he sits there, pointing to the pictures. I can't wait until he can tell me!

I busted out the picture book for Joey tonight, and we had some fun. When I said, "Give Pop-Pop a kiss," he happily obliged!

Reading is Fundamental
My mom originally bought this book for my niece Shae. On one of our trips home (I think for Shelley's wedding), Joey discovered that if he pressed the little froggy it would play a song. The rest, as they say, is history.
Joey's also learning to use a straw at daycare. I'm not sure how far he's gotten, but we bought him a cup with a straw and unfortunately it's even tough for me to drink out of. But he's so proud of himself just trying, how can I keep it from him?
He absolutely loves to play with this book. Usually he'll open to the first "page" (Tad's cow is missing, his brown and white cow), and then before the voice can even finish reading the page, he'll play the song and then all we hear is "I'm farmer Tad, I'm farmer Tad, I'm farmer Tad" and occasionally he'll actually let the song play out, but usually not.

And yes, that's Joey's "uniform." The red Kiddie Junction t-shirt. And the smallest they have is extra small (2-4), so hopefully he'll fit into it for the next two years. In the meantime, it looks like he's always wearing a smock.
