Here's Joey by the marker for the end of the 1st Flight. (No he wouldn't pose.)
The boys and I by the marker for the end of the 3rd Flight.Uncle Ryan and Shae at the marker for the end of the 4th Flight. (Yes, we walked the WHOLE path.)
By this point, Jacob was exhausted, and took a little nap in the baby carrier. That was the plan all along, but I was nevertheless excited when it all came to fruition. (If you look closely at the bottom of this picture, you can see the original monorail the Wright Brothers used for take-off. At the time of the first flights, the land here was too sandy and soft, and they would not have been able to get enough speed otherwise. Of course, the sand and soft ground, along with the winds, were why they chose this location; it would minimize any damage when landing.)
Here's a picture of Rachel and Ryan on the monument. They were taking pictures of us while we were walking up the hill to get there, so I thought I'd return the favor.
