Growing So Fast

I know I haven't been nearly as good about posting pictures of Jacob as I was about Joey. I haven't been nearly as good about taking them. So while we were outside playing on Monday, I made sure to grab my camera.

Joey absolutely did not want to pose, but I convinced him I could get the picture in one shot. Thankfully, i was right!

And I've figured out how to get Jacob to smile. If I just pretend I'm crying, he thinks it's hilarious, and I'm almost guaranteed a perfect shot.

It worked for this one, too. And he loves the golf clubs. Good to know how to keep him entertained when we're all outside.

Memorial Day Weekend

The Burgers stopped over for a little Memorial Day weekend fun on Sunday.

Joey and Wolfie had a blast digging in my garden.

After dinner, the boys played with all the tosy in the living room. I couldn't get them all to looka t once, of course, but at least I got all of them in one shot! (If you look closely, I even got the dog!!) Hope you had a great weekend, too.

Hiking Trip

On Sunday, we decided to get out and enjoy the weather. We bought a backpack for Jacob last year, and Mommy was anxious to try it out and see if he'd like it.

He had a great time. I think he liked it better when he could see Mommy and Joey. It must have been comfortable, because by the end of our walk, he was sound asleep.

After almost an hour, Joey was tired, too. Mommy gave him a ride on her shoulders. (No wonder my back hurt Monday morning!) Can't wait to get out again.

Tractor Rides

It was a beautiful weekend, so of course we were outside to enjoy it. Daddy was cutting the grass, and after the work was done, it was time for some fun!

This is Jacob's first tractor ride. He wasn't sure at first, but once Daddy hit the gas, he loved it! (Look at all those teeth. Can you believe he's cutting his molars already?!?!)

We all know Joey loves the tractor. Daddy lets him steer, now. Once he can reach the pedals, I'm sure he'll be driving all by himself.

Lilacs

Spring has come a little later this year, which means my lilacs just started opening in the last week or so. With any luck, they will still have blooms into June.

This is the old lilac bush that was in the backyard when we bought the house.

Bubbles!

Jacob had lots of fun playing with the bubbles yesterday afternoon. It's going to be so much fun when he can run around chasing Joey.

The Blue Tunnel

A good friend of mine texted about getting a tunnel for her kids, which reminded me that hey, we have one. Maybe Jacob would like it. He and I had fun just looking at each other through it, and then moving it from side to side playing peek-a-boo. When Joey came inside after the tractor rides, he had a blast playing with Jacob, too.

Time for the first tractor ride of the season!

Updates from Daycare

Daycare sends updates daily, and usually includes pictures of the kids. Here are a couple good ones from this week.

The Boys

On Saturday, Joey, Jacob and I headed down to suburbs to visit with Aunt Danielle, Wolfie and Otto. Oh yeah, and Wolfie's car. The boys had a blast!

I was able to snap one of all four. It took some cajoling, and they're not all smiling, but it's something!

It didn't take but a minute, and Joey was driving Wolfie around in the car.

He even took his brother for a spin!

Otto and Jacob had fun playing on the blanket together.

The Old and the Young

Last weekend was Old Grandpa's birthday, so we made a trip out to the Southside to check in.Who doesn't love great-grandparents?!

It was another beautiful day yesterday, so of course we were outside playing. While Joey was in the car, Jacob and I put down a blanket and played in the yard. He had such a good time!

I tried to get them to pose on the bench, but Jacob was having none of it.

They did have fun together, though!

And because I felt bad there's not a picture of just Joey from yesterday, here's one that was supposed to make the park-trip blog from this weekend. Such a cutie!
