Housekeeping!

Joey got a new toy from Buszi. Or I should say toys. Vacuum cleaner, broom, mop, dust pan and brush. We'll hire him out for weekends!

Getting Ready for the Beach

While we were at the park Monday evening, we figured we'd let Joey play in the sandbox for a bit. I am now a lot more comfortable that he'll enjoy the beach. We just have to work on the part where he doesn't throw the sand.

All by Myself

We went to the park after school yesterday, and Joey had a ton of fun on the slides. He even went down the BIG slide all by himself. He was so proud.

Extreme Close-up

The easiest way to get Mommy to stop taking pictures is to simply attack her with hugs and kisses.

Row, Row, Row Your Boat

It's good to know Joey has a healthy, active imagination. Today, the laundry basket became his row boat. He had so much fun, and was even singing a little to himself (which is how I figured out what he was thinking).
In that last picture, I just see my Mom's side of the family. It's funny, too, because from different angles I see a little bit of everybody. Today, though, it was all the Black family genes.

Waterless Entry

When we got the pool out this past weekend, Joey couldn't wait to get in.
Nevermind that there wasn't any actual water in it yet.
He found a way to have fun, though. Just like he always does.

Grandpa and Me

If I didn't know better, I'd swear Joey was trying to make the exact same face as his Grandpa. No matter what, though, this picture is priceless.

Mr. Clean

Apparently my son is a neat freak. OK, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration. But he does love to clean. No matter who is doing the cleaning, or what you're doing, he always wants to help out.
He helped Buszi do the windows and clean the glass door on the corner cabinet.
He even wiped down the window sills.
And of course, there's nothing better than helping Daddy sweep out the garage.

First Hair Cut

I've been thinking about taking Joey for his first hair cut for a few weeks now. The hardest part has been finding a place to go. My husband's stylist is about 45 minutes away from our house, and mine does my hair out of her home. I probably should've just taken him with me the last time I got mine cut, but I didn't wan to have to deal with keeping him out of trouble while I was getting my hair cut. So this weekend, as I was about to walk into one store, I noticed there was a Great Clips right next door. And in we went.
This is the "pre" shot, so that I can remind you how long his hair used to be. (I guess you could've just looked at the last post, but I'm making it even easier for you.)
Seriously, the kid sat right down in the booster chair and just sat there. Actually smiled with no prompting at the start. I couldn't believe he was going to sit still.
And he did. The whole time. Made a few faces and maybe jerked his head a little, but absolutely no crying. A real trooper. Check out how long the clippings are, too. I don't even think I get that much trimmed when I'm getting my hair cut.
I didn't get a picture of it, but at the end, the stylist even used the trimmers around the his ears. Again, a little jerk of the head to start, but then he was fine.
Here's the end result. Not too short, and it definitely makes him look like a little man now. I can't believe how quickly he's growing up!

Editor's note: Technically, I trimmed his bangs about a month or so ago because they were getting in his eyes and I couldn't constantly be there to brush them to the side. But I'm not really counting that.
