Not So Busy Days

Jacob is starting to stay awake a bit during the day. Not nearly as much as his big brother did, but he's finally staying awake. Here he is playing on the bed.

 And of course, not too much later, sleeping in his pack 'n play.

It's a hard life for a 4-week-old.

Identical Cousins

OK, Joey and Shae are obviously not really identical, what being different sexes and all, but they sure do love to do everything together (even if not at the same time). They had fun at the park ...

on the couch watching tv ...

and even at Target!

But I think the most fun they had together was at the Kohl's Children Museum, when they got to play doctor to the babies. (Sorry for the grainy photo - only had my iPhone with me.)

I'm sure Jacob can't wait to join them. In the meantime, he did everything he could to stay cool during this oppressive heat wave.

Catching Up ...

With my sister and her family in Chicago, I got a little behind on the blogs. Here are some photos to catch up. (Check out her blog for lots of photos from the trip - I have some, but she was definitely the photographer.)

Joey was a little jealous of me taking all the pictures of Jacob, and told me, "Take a picture of me by Jacob." So here he is standing by Jacob.

My Little Monkey

After we took a bath, Joey - I mean Jacob - looked so cute in his little monkey towel that I had to take some photos.

Not quite as good as the professional's, but given that I took these with my iPhone, not too shabby. (This first one is proof that he is occasionally awake. Not often, but lately he's been up for about an hour after feeding in the morning.)

Wasn't long before he was ready to go back to sleep, though. Big yawn!

He Sleeps

He Can't Talk Yet

Joey was holding his brother on the couch, and said to him, "Say Jacob." When I told Joey that Jacob couldn't talk yet, he said, "What do you mean he can't talk?" We're going to have a lot of fun as Jacob grows up.

Not Quite Napping

At one point Jacob was asleep on the blankets, but his big brother just wanted to play with him. Joey said he wanted to nap, but there was no sleeping on either part once Joey was on the floor, too.
