Cool Kids
So I maybe went a little overboard with the hat tonight (we took it off about halfway through the walk), but it's still chilly out! Especially for the last day of August. I'll have to get someone to knit us a little hat for the fall or something ... hint, hint, hint.

Brand New Cadillac
Yes, it's August. Yes, this picture is from today. And yes, Joey has on long sleeves and a fleece blanket. I don't think it got above 68 today, and it was pretty windy, so we needed the layers to keep warm. But yes, this is our brand new stroller. It is phenomenal! You hardly feel like you're pushing anything, and the handling on the stroller - wow.

The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill
It's been a while, so all I can say is buckle up and enjoy the ride. (Keep your hands and arms in the car, please.)
I don't know exactly when we started, but Joey is now eating table food. Pretty much at every meal (except breakfast). He absolutely will not eat any baby food until he's had his fill of solids. I think he just gets tired of chewing, but whatever it is, he's loving all kinds of foods. Cheeseburger, hot dogs, pasta, green beans, peaches, pizza. No, it's not all great for him, but mom and dad are having a few issues, especially since we never really used to plan dinner, and now we have to not only plan but plan for what a 9-month-old can chew. But it's fun! Here he is eating some Spaghetti-Os with Buszi last Friday.
He also loves to eat off the big boy spoon. He loves to eat the spoon, too. We'll move on to utensils in a couple months.
If you're in the know, you know the Wiggles have come to Sprout. Which is awesome (I guess), except they put them on at 7:00, instead of Sesame Street. I mean, who does that?!?! We need our Elmo in the morning. Joey wasn't exactly sure what he thought about them at first.

The Show Must Go On
So I've been running a little late on my blog posts. Sorry about that. (I really need to get an iPhone so I can just take pictures and then post them and not worry about actually writing anything.) We do have a few videos that need to get uploaded, but that takes time, too. I think Joey's starting to adjust to daycare - or he's absolutely exhausted. He took a 2.5 hour nap today. That's pretty normal for when he's home, but more than twice as long as he had been sleeping. So when I finally got home (after a 40 minute commute because of the rain!), this was what was waiting for me.

Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution
Apologies for the delayed post from yesterday. I was hit by some kind of stomach bug and my insides just felt like they were tearing apart from the inside. So I napped, and still went to bed at nine. But we still had a little time to have some fun. Daddy dressed Joey in this awesome AC/DC shirt. And he was having so much fun - just look at the trails on his hands! He loves to dance.
Yes, it is a Wiggles guitar (not sure what that is - I'm not up on the Wiggles yet), but Daddy still had fun teaching Joey to rock out.
Today was back to school for Joey, and back to work for Mommy and Daddy. Joey was actually much happier than this picture depicts (see below), but he's so cute even when he doesn't smile, I wanted to share.

Caught Red Handed
When I See You Smile
I know, I know. I'm a little behind. And given the crap I've been giving to my sister about not posting more wedding photos (which she finally has), I better get on it. I'm trying to get back to the "take at least one photo a day" of the boy, so that we can track his growth. This first one is from Thursday. I really don't think I need to say anything else about it.
Yesterday was a fun day. After picking Joey up from school, we went into the backyard to play. And for the first time, Joey actually crawled around in the grass. (He normally just does his Superman thing.) His shirt and knees were so dirty! But he was so proud of himself. And look at all those teefers!!
He absolutely loves Mom's sunglasses, too. He could play with them for hours. I think the "you're not supposed to have them" appeal trumps any practical "how do you play with sunglasses?" question. Somehow he manages.
We're all doing well after our first week at work/daycare. I think there's definitely still some adjusting going on for both of us, and unfortunately Daddy will have to deal with most of it next week, as I'll be in California for three days and Dallas for one. In the meantime, we'll enjoy our time together this weekend, and I'll take some more pictures.

Bohemian Rhapsody*
I finally got my camera back from my husband. He took it to the Phish concert last night, and then didn't take any pictures. And looking at what I have from my trip to PA, I didn't really take that many either. There is a great one of my Dad and Joey. He loves getting kisses!
Nana was teaching him early about becoming a shark that swims on the land. He didn't like the hat much, but these days he doesn't really like any hat, so there's still hope.
We did figure out that if we wanted him to stay quiet, all we had to do was give him my sunglasses. He loved them! He'd even wear them for a few seconds before playing with them.
Alas, this is probably the best picture we have from the wedding / reception.** It was probably 9:00 or so, and the poor guy was exhausted. We had changed him into a onesie, but his diaper leaked through that, so back into his dress shirt he went. It was too hot for pants, though, so just his pink shirt and a diaper. So cute. Needless to say, he could barely keep his eyes open but didn't want to be put down. So I held him, and we "danced" to Bohemian Rhapsody. And all was right with the world.
*I can't remember if I've already used Bohemian Rhapsody or not, and I don't feel like looking back at all my old posts. Oh well.

**I'm not kidding. There are a few blurry pictures from the church, and then a couple of these group shots. Serves me right for leaving my husband in charge as the photographer.

She Works Hard for the Money
I had all the best intentions of downloading the couple of pictures I took this weekend and telling everyone about how wonderful everything was. I might eventually get to it. In the meantime, please enjoy this picture from my sister Rachel, taken at the end of the rehearsal dinner. (My husband looks so happy to be there, doesn't he?)
Our great friend Alex is in visiting from Texas (he and Joe are going to see Phish tomorrow night), my in-laws came over to drop off the dog and pick up their Jeep, and yes, I had my first day at work. So there's not too much time left for the blogging. But it won't always be like this. At least I hope not. I'm going to miss sleep soon if it is.

Work was great. And the smile Joey had for me when I picked him up at daycare was worth it all. I'm glad he remembered me. (Just kidding, Mom.) In all honesty, I think he had a blast at daycare, playing with new toys and new kids. He even had graham crackers! New adventures every day.

One Day as a Lion
It was a scorcher here today. So we got to bust out the muscle shirt. I thought it was only a 9 month outfit, but I checked the tags and score! This adorable ensemble is really 12 months!! Which means it'll last the summer, when it will inevitably be in the 90s well into October, based on how cold the rest of the summer has been.
Book of the Month
Joey's getting around quite well these days. He's still not up on all fours, but he is a beast with the army crawl. Seriously, you turn your head for a second and he's either at the front door chewing on shoes or next to the computer trying to chew on the wires that are there. I can't imagine what it's going to be like trying to contain him once he's really crawling and walking. Here he is trying to sneak over to the end table; I think my sandals were on the floor over here.
He also loves to head over to his "library" and pull all the books out. There's a Peekaboo book he loves, especially the mirror at the end. He always kisses his reflection. It's so cute.
And yes, that's a bandage on his arm. The doctor wanted to do a hemoglobin work-up and urinalysis for his 9 month checkup yesterday. Believe it or not, he didn't even cry for the blood work. He winced a little when they stuck him, but then the nurse laughed and he smiled right back. Such a good little boy!
